At COTC, we deeply desire the flourishing of our city. There are tangible needs within our community - we believe God is opening doors to meet those needs through a ministry center called “The Village”. This facility will be located on our Franklin property, with the goal of resourcing mental health initiatives, single parents, foster families, and those aging out of the foster care system. The heart of The Village initiatives is to serve the vulnerable and meet the needs of our city in a profound way.

The Village Initiatives

The Care Center
The Care Center will host Church of the City’s missional partners and community organizations serving vulnerable populations, creating a centralized hub for collaboration, innovation, and care.

A key initiative launching from the Care Center is Human Flourishing, a partnership between Church of the City, local government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. The Human Flourishing Initiative helps families move from crisis toward stability and meaningful work. Family Advocates assess each family’s needs, identify key barriers, and work with community partners to create a coordinated plan forward—leading to fewer children entering foster care, higher family reunification rates, and stronger long-term stability for families.

Church of the City’s Cars Ministry will operate out of the Care Center, providing reliable transportation to individuals and families in need.

The Village Garden, a partnership between Cul2Vate and Church of the City, will also operate out of this center, providing fresh, healthy food to local partners, food banks, and families.
The Village Center
The Village Center will serve as the Wrap Around Hub for foster families and families in need. At its heart is the Village Shop, a donation-driven resource where families can receive clothing and essentials at no cost, along with a central Franklin drop-off location for community donations. In partnership with the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services (DCS), the center will also provide a welcoming space for supervised family visits.
The Village Center will also include a non-profit-led coffee shop and gathering space, an indoor playscape, a creative arts space, and a sensory room.
The Activity Center
The Activity Center is a full gymnasium designed to host large gatherings and events. It will serve Church of the City ministries—including City Students—as well as community events that require expanded indoor space, creating a flexible venue where we can gather, celebrate, and serve at a greater scale.

August 2024 Update

On Friday, July 12, we proudly hosted 77 remarkable young adults who recently graduated from high school and are in foster care. The young adults explored various vendors offering information about colleges, universities, job prospects, and other valuable resources. We provided a delicious barbecue lunch and celebrated their achievements with a special ceremony where they received a certificate. We provided them with gifts and we also gave away five cars through the Cars Ministry. The feedback from the young adults, vendors, and participating agencies has been overwhelmingly positive. We are grateful for the opportunity to be a light to these young adults who have faced so much adversity.

June 2024 Update

Over the last several weeks, we have witnessed the shift of literal tons of dirt as we make way for The Village’s building foundations. Our hearts are reminded of Jesus’ words in Matthew 7:24: “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

May 2024 Update

The soil is being tilled, church family! As this process begins, we look ahead in joyful anticipation of both the physical and spiritual harvests that are to come.

April 2024 Update

Big equipment has arrived on site as we prepare to move an inordinate amount of dirt. Interior trees are being removed as we make way for the changes ahead - for every tree removed, we plan to plant two in its place.

Before we go up, we must go down. Soon you will see trenches being dug to bury these pipes that will hold the new electrical and fiber being run.
