City Students is what we call our ministry for middle school and high school students. This team is dedicated to teaching Scripture to our students, creating environments for students to connect with each other, and cultivating large and small group settings to apply Scripture to their lives. This internship is an opportunity to work within one of our three locations. Our interns will spend time developing relationships with our students and volunteers, be a part of planning and setting up for weekly gatherings, implementation of our Student Leadership Team, as well as assist in the planning and execution of all large student events.
Our City Friends ministry offers support and care to our families with special needs. An intern role in the area would build relationships with ministry leaders and the families we serve. They would also help plan events, prepare environments, and support the ministry administratively.
Our college ministry provides weekly, monthly, and seasonal events for students that are college-aged. These events allow students to connect with others their age and deepen their faith. Our college interns will focus on intentional connection with our students and leaders in the hopes to foster deep relationships. They will also be available to plan and support our team with events, trips, and conferences.
At Church of the City, Community Groups are the primary environment for people to grow in their practices of Bible study and prayer, meet the practical needs of its members and neighborhood, and serve the needs of the community at large. Our Community Groups Internship is focused on developing leaders for the sole purpose of making disciples of Jesus.
The Creative Team at Church of the City supports all locations and ministries in a variety of ways, which consist of graphic design, communications, video storytelling, and more. The Creative intern role that we are specifically looking for is a graphic designer. This designer will help by supporting our design team to fulfill project requests that can range from an informational card, all the way up to a series design.
KidCity exists to partner with parents in the discipleship of their children by providing experiences and resources that equip the family to live in the way of Jesus. Our KidCity team is essential to our Sunday services and also provides events for kids and their families throughout the year. Interns in this ministry will help us with our weekend KidCity services with logistical set-up, but also help to prepare during the week by connecting with, caring for, and recruiting leaders.
Each weekend, Church of the City creates, plans, and executes a Sunday service with many moving parts. An intern in this area is focused on supporting technical needs churchwide. Interns will work with a staff member to learn the many aspects of production in relation to audio, video, and lighting. Interns will assist in weekly services, big projects, upgrades, installs of equipment and learn to troubleshoot gear. Interns may also be given a chance to oversee the technical execution of weekend services. This role supports almost every aspect of ministry that takes place at Church of the City.
Our worship team is passionate about creating an atmosphere that allows our church to worship open and freely. The team is committed to the training, equipping, and development of our worship leaders and team members. Interns will gain ministry experience at a multi-site church at a single location. They will learn how to facilitate worship environments for a variety of events and experiences that range from our kids, to students, to our weekend services.
At Church of the City we are passionate about helping children in the foster care system. We encourage our congregants to join us as we “wrap around” foster families and have been able to create a system for people to easily get involved within our Wrap Around ministry. We serve the kids and families through a variety of ways that range from providing respite, to doing laundry, and helping lead/train team members.
