Frequently asked questions
What is city students weekend?
City Students WEEKEND is a two day experience for your student that feels similar to a conference. For this event, students are invited to join us Friday night and all day Saturday at COTC’s Franklin campus, while sleeping at their own homes on Friday night. WEEKEND will consist of worship, teaching, small group discussion, and other interactive breakouts to help your student engage with God and with each other on a deeper level.
Why should your student come to city students weekend?
We feel it is vital for your students to participate in an experience like WEEKEND. This event will help create space for God to speak and for students to hear God in ways that are different from their normal rhythms. It is also a great time for small group leaders and other students to grow deeper in their relationships with each other. These types of bonds and relationships will fuel meaningful discussions and experiences throughout the rest of the school year.
Why is city students weekend being held at cotc Franklin?
We believe our facility at COTC Franklin is large enough to execute a meaningful and engaging weekend for our students and leaders in a safe way. We can appropriately socially distance ourselves and have the room to host all our participants.
what does the cost of registration cover?
Being that City Students WEEKEND is an in-house event, we are able to offer it at an affordable cost compared to some of our other off-campus events. Costs to put on WEEKEND include (but aren’t limited to): Saturday’s lunch and dinner, activities on campus, covering the costs of our volunteers, game supplies, A/V equipment, marketing/promotion, programming supplies, t-shirts, etc.
Please note: Our registration platform, Active Networks, is vital in offering an easy and efficient registration process for families registering one or multiple students at a time. With each registration there is a $5.95 fee that will be charged to utilize this platform. Within this platform, you will be able to:
- Register multiple students at a time from one link.
- Distinct registration links for each church location.
- The ability to log in and see your balance.
what if my student cannot attend in person, is there an online option available?
Yes! We are extremely excited to announce that we have an online option available for the City Students WEEKEND. Students will be able to engage with live teaching, worship, breakout sessions, small group content, and still receive a unique City Students WEEKEND t-shirt. To register your student(s) for the online options, you will use the same link as the in-person registration. If registering multiple students at one time, you may select one Online Registration to receive one t-shirt and our digital content, and then add any extra T-Shirts for each additional student to your checkout cart.
What forms need to be turned in?
For City Students WEEKEND, there is 1 form that is required to attend: the City Students General Release form. This form is now a part of our online registration process. When you register your student online you will be prompted to include your name for these waivers.
Will my students be required to wear a mask?
We are requiring masks to be worn as students are walking to and from sessions and while congregating in areas they cannot appropriately socially distance. Since our campus allows us the space to appropriately social distance, we are not requiring masks to be worn while students are at their seats.
