What to Expect

Welcome to Church of the City Franklin.

We’d love to have you join us!

Every COTC location uniquely reflects the community it serves and has its own lead pastor, worship team, staff, and volunteer teams. While each church is distinct, we remain in sync as a citywide family through the study of God’s Word, connecting to serve our city, and engagement with our missional partners.

When you arrive, you can expect a welcoming environment, passionate worship, strong contextual biblical teaching, and a community of people committed to living in the way of Jesus. We have ministries designed for preschool and elementary age children on Sunday mornings and middle and high school students every Wednesday evening. We look forward to serving your family!

Lead Pastor

Meet Dr. Darren Whitehead

Darren and Brandy Whitehead stepped out with a small team of people to found Church of the City in 2013. The work quickly grew into a diverse family of churches. Their vision to live in the way of Jesus, help others experience spiritual renewal, and influence global cities for the gospel has remained constant.

Darren grew up in a tiny town in the southernmost part of mainland Australia and moved to the United States over 20 years ago. He and Brandy married in 2002. He earned his Masters in Ministry from Wesley Seminary and his Doctorate from Capital Seminary and Graduate School. He’s a father of three daughters, writer, leader/teacher and pastor in Nashville.
